How experienced are you at mobile Dj'ing?
Galaxy Disco started providing music entertainment across the West Midlands in 1974 and has grown from strength to strength since. The family business is now in the capable hands of a father and son partnership, together having more than 50 years combined DJ'ing experience. We have played from small birthday parties and elegant wedding celebrations to large corporate events at conferencing venues.
How much do you charge?
We understand each and every booking is unique and will have individual requirements, so we quote each booking on an individual basis. Please remember when booking mobile disco entertainment for your event, the cheapest is not always the best option and ask yourself, why are they so cheap? If a DJ is willing to supply you with mobile disco entertainment cheaply, ask yourself; What equipment are they using? Are they Insured? Are they expereinced? Will they be reliable?
What areas do you work in?
Our primary work area is within the West Midlands, but we have been known to travel outside of this area on many occasions, so why not ask us for a quote and see what we can do?
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, if you decide to book with Galaxy Disco we require a 25% deposit and this will secure your booking. Once we have received your deposit we will confirm all the details to you in writing via email or post. The balance of the booking can be paid either at 7 days before the event by cheque or when Galaxy Disco arrives at the venue.
Do you work to a playlist?
We do not work to a set playlist, unless of course you want us to and we would be more than happy to do that for you. We understand that every event is unique and with many years of DJ'ing experience we have the ability to read the crowd and select the most appropriate music for you and your guests enjoyment.
But you take requests, right?
Yes of course we do. If there are any particular tracks you or your guests want played at your event then you can email us a list beforehand and we will ensure we have all of them on the evening. We carry an extensive catalogue of over 20,000 tracks so if there are any requests you think of on the evening, don't be afraid to ask us, there is a strong chance we will have it.
What about if I don't want certain tracks/music played?
If there are particular tracks or a type of music you do not want played we will ensure that are not played that evening. You can tell us at the time of booking, email us in advance or tell us at the beginning of the event.
What equipment do you use?
We have a vast amount of superb professional audio and lighting equipment to accommodate all venues sizes. Our light show consists of scanners, barrels, moving heads, projectors and led star cloths. Our audio rig consists of a crystal clear speaker system with a minimum of 1200watts music power capability. Our entire music database is controlled through an Apple Mac Laptop giving us a vast music directory at the touch of a button, or two. We also carry a dual CD/MP3 player just in case you bring along any CD's you would want us to play. We always carry back up equipment in case of any unforeseeable equipment failures on the night to ensure your event goes ahead as planned.
Do you have different levels of roadshow?
When you book Galaxy Disco we provide the amount of equipment necessary to ensure the most effective lighting and sound is achieved irrelevant of venue size. We do not charge more for extra lighting or sound system if required for larger venues.
Do you use a microphone?
We do use a wireless microphone at events but we are professional and keep this to essential announcements. We do not make silly jokes or constantly talk after every song as this we feel can compromise the atmosphere for you and your guests. Please feel assured that we are not microphone shy and have a personality, when we need to talk, we do. You are also more than welcome to use our wireless radio microphone at events if you would like to make speeches or announcements.
Can you set up earlier in the day?
Yes, we can arrange for the equipment to be erected earlier in the day. We can also arrange for background music of your choice to be playing if you would like that too. By having us set up earlier in the day prevents us from having to load equipment whilst you may be doing speeches or eating (even though we do work with minimal interference or noise).You need to ask for this service when you book and this will incur a charge.
